Speedhiking vs. Slow hiking

On a speed hike, making a half way point can be a point of exhilaration. But it doesn’t always have to be that way…

I’ve always thought speed hikers were the crème de crème of trekkers and aspired to be the fastest hiker I could be—until this season. This year, I experimented with hiking in new styles—slower styles—that emphasized challenges other than speed such as navigation, language barriers, and technicality.
