Big news…as heard on trail

From plenty of food in Damascus, to pizza last night (and two slices a piece packed out and cinnie rolls for breakfast) to lunch at the Barn in Atkins, VA, this has been a food-packed three days for Will and me! We got to watch CNN with Bearbag at the Barn and see coverage of Osama bin Ladin. I chatted on the phone for a long while in Atkins, though, and Will went ahead. We’ll probably catch up somewhere, though.

It hailed a bit today, but I was lucky enough to have been at Davis tent site (the former shelter where I stayed at in 2008) when it hit, so I hid out in the privy until it passed.

I got to revisit one of my favorite sections of the trail—these big rolling green hills with cows (ironic, since I grew to kind of not like those on the CDT). It rained a bit, which was a bummer, and when I got to the shelter, it was full again. I hammocked, but it didn’t end up raining, so it was a very cold, but pleasant night.
